Our team members

 Welcome to the CyberPhysical System Research Group at School of Computing, Engineering and the Built Environment, Edinburgh Napier University, UK.

The group leader is Professor Hongnian Yu and the deputy is  Professor Chan Hwang See
 

Our overarching research interests are multi-disciplinary and have a number of cross cutting themes that include research in smart sensors, advanced communication, computational intelligence, autonomous systems, and Internet of Things with the application of theoretical, computational and analytical approaches.

RF & Microwave Research Facilities

  • MegIQ – RMS-0460: 370MHz to 6GHz Radiation Measurement System
  • Aaronia Spectran V6 Vector Signal and Spectrum Analyzer 8 GHz
  • Aaronia Near- and far-field measurement package for All EMC measurements 8GHz
  • R&S TS7124M- RF Shielded box 700 MHz to 18 GHz
  • R&S ZVA40 Network Analyser  10 MHz to 40 GHz

RF Material Characterisations service

  • To measure the dielectric properties of the materials,  SPEAG DAK3.5 (200MHz to 20 GHz) and Split Post Dielectric Resonator (at 1.9 GHz) are available.

Photovoltaic & Thermal Solar Energy Equipment

 We have a wide array of state-of-the-art solar energy equipment available for use in both research and teaching. This not only enhances the student experience but also provides opportunities for collaboration with industry and academic partners.

Software simulation tools

Simulation software is based on the process of modeling a real phenomenon with a set of mathematical formulas. It is, essentially, a program that allows the user to observe an operation through simulation without actually performing that operation.
